In this sample you hear a recording from inside a well sound insulated room, directly under the roof of a house. Strong rain hints the roof and produces low frequency muted sounds. In the background you hear the constant noise of the rain, coming through the window. There are also a few raindrops hitting the glass of the window. The sample was recorded using the built-in stereo microphone of a zoom h4n recorder. It was slightly processed to remove unwanted low and high frequencies which were not related to the actual recording. 10 minutes swedish summer evening. Recorded 10 june 2020 about 20:30 in the evening. I’m recording with a zoom h1. No editing of the file. Almost no wind this evening. You will hear birds, a boat, insects and a tin roof cooling. Me and my h1 are listening to the wonders of nature.

The beautiful sounds of office life. This is audible interference from a cheap ballast in a florescent light fixture--or several in close proximity. (it's probably violating fcc regulations with rf output too. ) this was recorded with an iphone builtin mic, then processed to isolate the sound. It's a beeping / humming at around 3,800 hz. Each beep lasts about 1 second, followed by a half-second of silence before the next beep. Toward the end of this recording, it shifts slightly upward in pitch, to around 4,000 hz. Some typing on a keyboard can be heard in the foreground. (it's an office, after all. ).

Here is a recording of raindrops dripping on the roof of a rental car. Recorded in the interior of the vehicle. It seems to form a repetitious pattern.

Roofing works with propane burner. You can use it also for a hot air balloon recorder with zoom h4n.

Actually is not rain. It is snow melting down from a roof, falling into puddles and onto a corrugated roof. I placed the microphone (zoom h2) on different spots in 4channel sorround mode. I just normalized them and mixed them into stereo. Thats it. In this case the mic is placed on the ground in the middle of the puddles and the roof. Feel free to vote and leave a comment, maybe letting me know how you are going to use it :). You can easily loop the sound without a notable cut in the mix. Cheers, pillo.

What sounds when you press a switch over and over again.

An approaching storm cell with light to medium rain fall on a metal roof (recorded from the outside not the inside) with the occassional roll of thunder.

Turning on the light switch in an old very reverberated staircase/hallway. Zoom h1 and mastered with supreme analog gear.

This is the sound of a 98cc sachs engine of a 1938 light motorbike. It is one of the bikes in my private collection. The sounds reflect the fuel cock switching, flooding of the carburettor, sucking of the cylinder and two tries to bring the engine to life. The sound in between is the clutch lever. The engine is started by pedaling the bike on its stand. Main engine run features idle to half throttle open. The engine is eventually stopped by using the decompression lever which you can hear at the end. This is a true recording of the actual item.

A wooden bedside lamp with a plastic switch was used to produce the sound. Various ways of putting on the lamp and then switching it off were performed to widen the sound's range. A zoom h6 recorder was used, with the xy capsule, in a room to record the sound.
